Introduced in 1984 the 962 helped to continued what the earlier 956 had started. The 956 was not deemed not safe enough for IMSA racing in the US to Porsche decided to release the 962 which extended the wheelbase by 4.7 inches so the drivers feet would not extended over the centerline of the front wheels. Other modifications were made to the cockpit and engine as IMSA did not allow the twin turbo engine for the 956.
This particular car is chassis 087 finishing second in the 1988 24 hr of Le Mans driven by Hans-Joachim Stuck, Klaus Ludwig and Derek Bell.

"This is BRILLIANT mate!! What a great tool. I could have used that myself. My local centre has very poor product knowledge salesman and were all but NO help to me. Asked numerous questions and not once an answer. So much so numerous people have told me to work there as I know much more about Porsche 911s and 718s. This will help many people... and keep up the great idea and work."
